Secure Regenerating Codes Based on Rashmi-Shah-Kumar MBR Codes

چکیده
In this paper, we present a construction of (n, k, d,m) secure regenerating codes for distributed storage systems against eavesdroppers that can observe either data stored in at most m storage nodes or downloaded data for repairing at most m failed nodes in a network where m < k ≤ d ≤ n − 1. The (n, k, d,m) secure regenerating code is based on an (n, k, d) minimum bandwidth regenerating (MBR) code, which was proposed by Rashmi, Shah and Kumar as optimal exact-regenerating codes, for all values of the parameters (n, k, d). The (n, k, d,m) secure regenerating codes have the security as a secret sharing scheme such that even if an eavesdropper knows either data stored in at most m storage nodes or downloaded data for repairing at most m failed nodes, no information about data leaks to the eavesdropper. key words: secret sharing, secure regenerating code, distributed storage

Generalization of Rashmi-Shah-Kumar Minimum-Storage-Regenerating Codes
In this paper, we propose a generalized version of the Rashmi-Shah-Kumar Minimum-Storage-Regenerating(RSKMSR) codes based on the product-matrix framework. For any (n, k, d) such that d ≥ 2k − 2 and d ≤ n − 1, we can directly construct an (n, k, d) MSR code without constructing a larger MSR code and shortening of the larger MSR code. As a result, the size of a finite field over which the propose...
متن کاملExact Regenerating Codes for Distributed Storage
Erasure coding techniques are used to increase the reliability of distributed storage systems while minimizing storage overhead. The bandwidth required to repair the system after a node failure also plays a crucial role in the system performance. In [1] authors have shown that a tradeoff exists between storage and repair bandwidth. They also have introduced the scheme of regenerating codes whic...
متن کاملCodes with Combined Locality and Regeneration Having Optimal Rate, $d_{\text{min}}$ and Linear Field Size
In this paper, we study vector codes with all-symbol locality, where the local code is either a Minimum Bandwidth Regenerating (MBR) code or a Minimum Storage Regenerating (MSR) code. In the first part, we present vector codes with all-symbol MBR locality, for all parameters, that have both optimal minimum-distance and optimal rate. These codes combine ideas from two popular codes in the distri...
متن کاملQuasi-cyclic Flexible Regenerating Codes
In a distributed storage environment, where the data is placed in nodes connected through a network, it is likely that one of these nodes fails. It is known that the use of erasure coding improves the fault tolerance and minimizes the redundancy added in distributed storage environments. The use of regenerating codes not only make the most of the erasure coding improvements, but also minimizes ...
متن کاملMultilevel Diversity Coding with Secure Regeneration: Separate Coding Achieves the MBR Point
The problem of multilevel diversity coding with secure regeneration (MDC-SR) is considered, which includes the problems of multilevel diversity coding with regeneration (MDC-R) and secure regenerating code (SRC) as special cases. Two outer bounds are established, showing that separate coding of different messages using the respective SRCs can achieve the minimum-bandwidth-regeneration (MBR) poi...
